The Red Wing Photography Club is about education, activities and our members.

Here are just some of the activities we have going on at the club.  You can be as involved as you like in photo shoots, educational programs and social gatherings.  It's a club, so it's all up to you.

* Associated with the Anderson Center, renowned in the art community throughout the mid-west and the United States.

*Photos on display at the Red Wing Arts Association for the Earth Day exhibit.

* Photo shoots at the National Eagle Center in Wabasha.

* Free basic photography workshops every 6 weeks or so.

*Use of our Studio/Workshop at the Anderson Center for $5 per hour. (New for 2010)

*Free intermediate photography classes every few months.

* Free advanced Deep-Dive photography workshops including advanced exposure, post processing, printing, portrait/strobist/natural light, macro, forensic, and advanced photography techniques.

* We hold "Photo Critique" workshops to help photographers understand what critics look at when reviewing photos.

* On occasion, we have special guest speakers from all over the country presenting different aspects of photography.

* We have occasional off-site club meetings/photo shoots at places like Sargent's Nursery where we really enjoy the flower shoots. Or, weather permitting we hold club meetings outside on the beautiful Anderson Center grounds.

* We co-sponsored a KWING radio contest open to all photographers for great pictures of Red Wing.

* We have had our photographs hanging in the Anderson Center, Goodhue County Historical Society building and at First United Methodist Church.

* We completed a photo shoot at the historic Sheldon Theatre where we had full access to the entire theatre to shoot.

* We have weekly Photo Cahts at Caribou Coffee, Red Wing, every Wednesday from about 6:30 to 9PM.  No agendas, just relaxed conversation.

That's the short list of activities going on at the club.  We focus on photography, not equipment.  It does not matter if you have a $25 camera or a $2,500 one.  We have members as young as 14 years old and experience levels from the most basic knowledge to having several pros in the club.

This is our official club site (www.rwphotoclub.org) which handles all our club business, forums, monthly Challenges, member galleries, calendar of events, contests and news.  Only club members may contribute photos or join the forums.

Our yearly dues are $35 for a single membership, $50 for a family membership.

To join the club, simply go to our home page and complete the "Create An Account".  You can even pay your dues on line safely through Pay Pal.  Or, you are welcome to attend a couple of meetings before joining, just to check us out.

Our club meetings are held on the third Monday of each month at the Anderson Center, 163 Tower View Drive, (Highways 61 and 19) in Red Wing.  Our social time is 6:30pm, meeting from 7-8:30 or so, and social time afterwards.

If you'd like to be a part of the fun and learn more about photography along the way, we'd be thrilled to have you join.  We're over 100 members strong now, but our goal is to be the best club, not the biggest.

We hope to see you at the club meeting and hear from you soon!

“Keep Focused”
